About
Our objective is to be a gathering place for those that share the ideal that all humans are equal and desire independence. With this independence comes a responsibility to live according to a basic rule; don’t take actions that impede others from reaching their potential.
As an acronym, CIRCLE stands for:
Center - We strive to be unbiased, critical thinkers…
Individual – …believing that Rights can only be held by individuals.
Responsibility - Leading to the individual being held accountable for his actions.
Collaborative – Individuals acting in concert toward a single objective…
Libertarian – …of enhancing personal freedoms.
Empowerment – Allowing for unlimited personal achievement and, hopefully, a stronger society.
We respect the traditional definition of Libertarian as stated in Webster, ”a person who upholds the principles of individual liberty especially of thought and action”.
We look to promote individuality and not stand for the imposition of arbitrary rules that favor some over others. It may be optimistic to think that the vast majority can support themselves without outside aid. It may also be optimistic that those same individuals will always look for efficient ways to provide for the few that can’t live independently. Well, we are an organization for optimistic individuals, striving to promote freedom and responsible (you define) living. No judgement. Just happy cohabitation.
Why CIRCLE?
Circle, the shape, is a simple, yet extremely complex object. Simple in that it requires only one variable to describe it. From knowing that one variable (the diameter), one can completely characterize it. Yet it’s extremely complex in that it depends on a mathematical constant, represented by the symbol Pi. Pi is a number typically denoted as 3.14159. However, it’s more than that. It is an irrational number, meaning that its decimal representation neither ends nor repeats. Also, it should be mentioned, the circle is considered one of the most stable and efficient as every point on the circle is considered an equal with no localized stress points or discontinuities.
We think that is a nice analogy for CIRCLE, the organization. On the surface, our mission is very simple: To excel to our utmost potential as individuals. It is complicated by the fact that we live on a hunk of rock with over 6.7 billion individuals. How to protect the individual from society’s obsession for control is the tricky part. Much like calculating pi, we may never find the end, but it’s not going to stop us from striving for a better solution. Please consider joining us for the journey.
